Wanted: right the fuck now: Super Socco

I did a Google and All The Web search for a picture of the juice box Super Socco. It was the sugar drink of choice during my youth and I name dropped it as part of my attack on David Gray and then I realized I haven't seen a box of it in years.

Years.

So I turned to my friend the Inernet and found dink-all-and-nothing. So if you have a picture, or know where I can find one or even better have a physical image or Super Socco collectable, then let me know. Please.

» Milk Box from the Eighties? from DarrenBarefoot.com
My friend Sarah is searching for a box drink of our youth. It's a cousin, apparently, of Super Socco (remember that awful, tangy stuff?), came in a similar tetra pak and was actually a milk product (though it may have... [Read More]

I'm looking, too. It seems this drink has disappeared off the face of the planet.

Ok So we need to start a support group. We all were apparently addicted in our childhood and it has somehow taken until now for us to realize it has dropped off the grid. They cut us off cold turkey...so kind of drug you don't realize that you miss until ten years after the fact. I just want to hold one of those nice little white boxes again. Even the grape or orange flavor will do. It DID make us play soccer better...something to live for at half time. So now that we have begun the healing process WHERE CAN WE FIND IT. I phoned Coca Cola Corp. and can't get a straight answer out of them. Maybe it was a drug just like how they used to actually put trace amounts of Cocaine in Coca Cola... once prescribed as stomach medicine in South America. These are the same people that brought us Super Socco...but had to take it away. Oh it was so sour and yet thirst quenching when cold. Just one box...Anyone...Please...
Loco for Super Soco

Ah, yes...Super Socco. An integral part of my junior high lunch (along with mock chicken loaf...remember the orange scum around the edge? Yeeeccch!!) Does anyone remember Dr. Oh? It also came in a small tetra pak, but it was like a milkshake. Blue Bubblegum was its most popular flavour. Memories....

I just had one of those weird memories where it's not really a visual memory, but a taste-memory, and I was like, what is that I'm tasting? It's sour and tasty and whitish-yellow colored...it's Super Socco!! Where the hell is my Super Socco?!

I ADORED Super Socco. I was just talking about it and searched it myself! lol

I just remembered that Super Socco was the best beverage to make long spit stringers. The kind that you hang above your little sister.

Super Socco and Gin fuckin ruled!!!!!!!

YEAH I REMEMBER SUPER SOCCO MIXING IT WITH GIN IT WAS THE BEST FUCKING DRINK EVER.... TO BAD IT'S GONE,,,GATORADE AND POWERADE JUST DOSENT'DO IT FOR ME...

I was one of the kids in the commercials on TV and I've got a copy on my computer... anyone want the hookup?

I remember racing motocross and drinking it... and then using it with gin to make my party drinks... after the races... haha... Where is it now

I am sad and happy at the same time. On one hand I am pleased that I recovered or retrieved that hiding memory of Supper Socco, but then it sets in....... no more Super socco. I too had not a visual memory but a taste memory. A few nights ago it possessed my tongue for 10 minutes. At first I was not sure what I was tasting, I knew it was a memory from the past intruding in the most pleasant way. A few moments later the name came to me but the taste was gone. Please! Anyone. I a very serious here. It would be satisfying and I would be grateful if you can help me capture a small but potent fragment of our childhood. Thank you!

I totally remember SuperSocco, and I weep for its loss. It was one of those consumate Vancouver experiences, you know you're a true Vancouverite if you remember SuperSocco. In fact I remember boxes of the stuff being delivered to my door by the "Dairyland" milkman. I swear my family could easily go through a box of 30 in a week. Does anyone else remember freezing them, then using a knife to cut open the top of the tetrapak, and eating them like a slushy? I also remember that after we finished drinking them, we would use the straw to blow up the tetrapak, and then stomp on them to get a pretty loud "bang." It used to drive our parents and teachers nuts. I'm having a total taste flashback: that sour taste that used to cause a phlegm build-up in your throat, and make it hard to breathe... oh the memories. I would love it if anyone could track down a photo of the box.

check out #6. It's an Expo 86 version, but it's better than nothing.

I drank SupperSocco as a youth in the 80's playing AYSO soccer in California. It was addicting. I think it was my first gateway experience.

I would like to know if this drink is still available because it is perfect to mix with Gin. If not, does anyone have the ingredients?

Let me know!

I was searching it cos suddenly I couldn't get the lyrics to the freakin jingle outta my head... "If you're on the go / Then you better know about / Super Soccoooooooo / S-O-C... C-O!" ... That I have synapses dedicated to retaining this information is, well, distressing. Never tasted the stuff in my life.

Add this to the end of the above address.

Hi, so I posted awhile ago about having a copy of a commercial. Well it's on youtube now.

I REMEMBER IT WAS GREAT FOR GETTING OVER A HANGOVER.

Wow I was just talking about Super Socco so I decided to google it figuring I would with no difficulty finding a photo and proof of its existance. Thanx for the youtube link. I'm not crazy.
